The NS, or Name Server records of a domain, reveal which servers handle the Domain Name System (DNS) records for it. Setting the name servers of a given host company for your domain name is the simplest way to forward it to their system and all its sub-records will be handled on their end. This includes A (the IP address of the server/website), MX (mail server), TXT (free text), SRV (services), CNAME (forwarding), etc, so, in case you would like to edit some of these records, you will be able to do it through their system. In other words, the NS records of a domain address show the DNS servers which are authoritative for it, so when you try to open a web address, the DNS servers are contacted to get the DNS records of the domain name you are attempting to reach. That way the site that you will see is going to be retrieved from the correct location. The name servers usually have a prefix “ns” or “dns” and every single domain address has at least two NS records. There isn't any functional difference between the two prefixes, so what type a web hosting provider is going to use depends exclusively on their preference.
NS Records in Cloud Web Hosting
The outstanding Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with our cloud web hosting packages, will enable you to handle the name servers of each and every domain name registered through us with only a few clicks, so even though you may have not had a hosting plan or a domain name before, you simply won't encounter any issues. The Domain Manager tool, which is a part of Hepsia, features a very user-friendly interface and it will enable you to change the NS records of any domain or even a number of domain addresses simultaneously. Additionally we give you the chance to set up child name servers dns1.your-domain.com and dns2.your-domain.com for any domain address registered within the account just as easily and all you need for that is a pair of IP addresses - either ours, if you're going to use the child NS to direct the domain to the account on our cloud platform, or the ones of the third-party provider if you will use the new records to direct the domain to their system. Unlike other providers, we don't charge extra for providing this additional DNS management service.
NS Records in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The name servers for each domain name that is registered through our company could be changed with no more than a few clicks from the sophisticated, although easy-to-use Hepsia Control Panel included with all semi-dedicated server plans. It is just as effortless to view the current NS records for a particular domain name and to verify if they're the ones that are needed for the domain to be pointed to your hosting account. The Domain Manager tool, which is a part of Hepsia, is user-friendly enough to allow you to manage any domain address with ease even if you haven't dealt with such matters before. If you want, you may also register private name servers ns1.your-domain.com and ns2.your-domain.com and use them not only for the domain address under which they're created, but also for any other domain name that you might want to host inside the same account. This feature is very handy if you have clients of your own and you wish their websites to use your own name servers rather than our default ones. The service is totally free.
